One of my favorite elements of interior decorating is light. Different types of light can transform the mood of a room despite the furniture or space. When my roommate and I come home after a long stressful day at work, we tend to turn off the bright overhead lights and turn on a softer side-lamp. Maegan Fee
Creative Director

Since joining Merida Meridian more than five years ago, Maegan Fee has strived to develop creative, innovative product lines by experimenting with different materials, constructions, and weaving techniques, and interacting with customers to track trends in color, texture, materials and manufacturing. For anyone who knows Maegan, it is no surprise that her innate artistic talents have driven her to become Creative Director in just a few short years.

Creating art has been a lifelong passion for Maegan. From watercolor paintings with her grandfather as a young child to replicating famous paintings in chalk at the Lake Worth, Florida Street Painting Festival in high school, her aptitude for art has always been apparent. As a student at Palm Beach County School of the Arts, teachers encouraged Maegan to pursue her passion for fibers, printmaking and surface design at the Rhode Island School of Design. At RISD, Maegan gained experience in complex textile design, surface design and photography through classroom instruction as well as international study programs in Slovakia and New Zealand.

These travel experiences – including living on a farm, shearing sheep, and bungee jumping! – continue to inspire Maegan in her work. She also finds her muse in nature, life experiences and her family and friends. Even when she is not working, Maegan continues to indulge her creative side with painting, photography and knitting on her own knitting machine. Although she grew up relishing the year-round sun and surf of Palm Beach, you can now find Maegan thoroughly enjoying New England winters by snowboarding down the mountains – and maybe even enjoying the chill.
