Elizabeth MartinParaiba River, Elle Decor Showhouse
Selected by Elle Décor to design a guest room in their San
Francisco showhouse, Elizabeth Martin brought her eye for clean lines, love of
rich textures and classic, sophisticated style to the project. With selective pops of color integrating
with and highlighting the neutral palette, the space has a classic appeal with
modern flair. To add to the elegant allure and create bold texture on the floor, Martin selected Merida’s Paraiba sisal rug for a wall-to-wall installation. The grey coloring of the sisal rug works wonderfully with the neutral tones and the delicate pattern adds depth and opens up the room. Bottom line: we love this room and look forward to following Martin’s future endeavors! SHOP THIS RUG > |

Gary SpainCortina Black Diamond, Elle Decor Showhouse
Taking notice of his design talents, Elle Décor approached Gary Spain to create a unique and inviting living room in their showhouse. Remaining true to his signature style, Spain brought a classic edgy masculine feel to the room that is alluring and inviting. To achieve the look, Spain used oversized furniture with unique detailing -- the coffee table features solid spiral curved legs and the backs of the winged lounge chairs have a playful heart-shaped curved top. To complete the look, Spain selected Merida’s Cortina rug in Black Diamond. The dark rugs pulls the look together and adds intrigue to the light walls and window treatments. The wool and sisal blend rug has texture that adds an interesting texture to the smooth wood floors. |

Grant K. GibsonBali Volcano, Elle Decor Showhouse
Based in San
Francisco, Grant K. Gibson was handpicked by Elle Décor to design a
kids’ room in their first-ever designer showhouse. Initially intimidated
by the idea of creating a kid’s room, Gibson stepped up to the
challenge, thought outside the box and took a design risk.
Gibson decided to have some fun with the space and chose to create a teenage girls’ dream sanctuary. In the room, Gibson selected Merida's Bali Volcano rug, one of Merida's jute rugs, in a wall-to-wall to add glamour and sophistication to the edgy bedroom. We love how all of the unique patterns, colors and textures play off of each other and work together! Well-done Grant! SHOP THIS RUG > |

Kendall WilkinsonCortina Glades, Elle Decor Showhouse
Designing the entry foyer of a home is a difficult task to begin with – afterall, it sets the mood and style for the rest of the house – and is made even more challenging when that house is the Elle Décor showhouse. Apparently the talented Kendall Wilkinson works well under pressure; the entry to the San Francisco showhouse is bright and bold with rich textures that accurately set the stage for the rest of the house. To emphasize the dramatic staircase and draw the eye into the home, Wilkinson flawlessly pulled off a difficult Cortina stair installation. The textured rug adds visual interest to the stairs, differentiating the surface from the wood landing. We love the final result and applaud Wilkinson on a job well done. SHOP THIS RUG > |

Maegan FeeCreative Director, Merida Meridian
Creating art has been a lifelong passion for Maegan. From watercolor paintings with her grandfather as a young child to replicating famous paintings in chalk at the Lake Worth, Florida Street Painting Festival in high school, her aptitude for art has always been apparent. As a student at Palm Beach County School of the Arts, teachers encouraged Maegan to pursue her passion for fibers, printmaking and surface design at the Rhode Island School of Design. At RISD, Maegan gained experience in complex textile design, surface design and photography through classroom instruction as well as international study programs in Slovakia and New Zealand. Since joining Merida, Maegan strived to develop creative, innovative product lines by experimenting with different materials, constructions, and weaving techniques, and interacting with customers to track trends in color, texture, materials and manufacturing. For anyone who knows Maegan, it is no surprise that her innate artistic talents have driven her to become Creative Director in just a few short years. |
