Merida designers specialize in capitalizing on the unique properties — and overcoming the apparent limitations — of organic materials like jute, sisal, seagrass and wool. It's not easy. But it's the only way we know to balance our dual commitment to design and sustainability. (We are also exploring the use of synthetic materials that are recyclable or come from recycled materials.)
In bringing their vision to life, our designers work closely with suppliers and manufacturers in the United States and abroad. They provide drawings, photos, handwoven samples and other forms of guidance to make sure the final product captures every last design detail.
