Merida Home Sustainability Scholarship

Merida has always made a point to engage in sustainable practices in both our professional and personal lives. We use natural fibers in all of our products and believe that social and economic factors need to be taken into account throughout business practices. We know that there are plenty of young minds out there whom are equally as passionate about sustainability. In an effort to encourage them and promote sustainability, Merida Home is offering a $1,000 scholarship to the high school student who best expresses Merida’s key theme: sustainability with style!

Terms

• To apply, please write an essay that explains what “sustainability with style” means to you.
• The essay should be between 300-500 words.
• Top 5 submissions will be featured on the Merida Home Blog where visitors will determine the winner based on the popular vote.
• Only one vote per visitor is allowed.

Qualifications

• Participants must be either a high school junior or senior. Merida reserves the right to verify the date of graduation.
• Entries are limited to one submission per person.
• Immediate family members of Merida employees are excluded from this contest.
• Submissions must be received by May 1st, 2011.
• The top 5 submissions will be posted to the Merida Home Blog on May 15th, 2011. The winner will be determined by Merida on June 1st, 2011.
• All submissions must include the student’s name, age, email address, postal address, high school they are currently enrolled in, and a phone number to contact.
